Henrik Bootz
Chief Executive Officer & Board Member
Henrik is a seasoned global executive with a firm belief in three pillars essential for businesses to succeed: assembling top-tier talent in collaborative teams, being able to gather superior market insights, and having far-reaching effective channels to connect and engage with customers and stakeholders. Science and Medicine Group, with its portfolio of leading market research and digital media brands, provides all these key elements and solutions to some of the world’s most admired companies within the life science sector and beyond. Having lived and worked as a finance and business development leader all over the world for over two decades, Henrik today oversees the business from our headquarters in the Washington D.C. area. Beyond his professional pursuits Henrik enjoys travelling, alongside his wife, two sons and their faithful companion, Bucky. An avid skier and sailor, he embraces outdoor adventures year-round. Henrik earned his master’s in business and economics degree from Lund University, Sweden, and is a former officer in the Royal Swedish Navy.
Barry Lovette
Chief Growth Officer
Barry brings over 25 years of media experience to SMG with the goal of growing our group of media brands. Leading digital transformation has been Barry’s focus at both of his previous media companies over the last fifteen years, and this focus continues at Science and Medicine Group. Barry lives in Birmingham, AL with his wife, Joy, and their two dogs. Barry also has two daughters currently studying at Auburn University. When not travelling to Auburn for SEC football games, Barry enjoys playing golf, travelling and everything outdoors (hunting, fishing, hiking, etc.).
Ryan Conover
Chief Technology Officer & Amplion Business Leader
Ryan is responsible for the organization’s technology, data, and security and brings over 20 years of experience in information technology. He is also responsible for the success of the Amplion business line. He formerly held senior technology leadership roles in the Association and Construction industries. He holds both PMP and PMI-ACP credentials. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a dual degree in Computer Science and Business. He is a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins Fan who resides outside Pittsburgh with his wife, daughter, and dog, Jersey. In his free time, he is either at a hockey rink with his daughter or helping his wife with her pediatric dental practice.
Mike Tice
Senior Vice President, Syndicated Research, Analytical & Life Science Instrumentation
Mike has carried out market research and consulting in the broader laboratory instrumentation space for more than 20 years. He joined the SMG team when SDi & IBO were acquired in 2014. Based in Los Angeles, Mike enjoys reading and collecting books (mainly science fiction/fantasy/horror).
Richa Singh
Vice President, Strategic & Insights Sales
Richa has over 20 years of sales experience. Before joining Science and Medicine Group she worked at Collect Rx, a healthcare revenue cycle management company, for 12 years, where she was promoted to Executive VP of Sales & Customer Success and led the department to year-over-year growth. At Science & Medicine Group, Richa oversees sales, marketing, and customer success for the Insights business unit. Richa earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Maryland. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants and playing with her daughter.
Dameka Williams
Vice President, Market Intelligence
Dameka has nearly 30 years of clinical, social science, and market research experience. Prior to joining SMG, she led the market research department at a Washington DC area consulting firm. Dameka holds bachelor’s degrees in Health Science and Experimental Psychology and has a master’s degree in business administration. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Survey Design and Data Analysis. In her spare time, Dameka works with a non-profit she founded in Southern Maryland. She also enjoys reading and spending lots of time with family.
Ben Barna
Vice President, Media Sales
Ben has 15+ years’ experience in digital media sales and digital media sales management. He has been with Science and Medicine Group since October 2022. He has experience with PPC, SEO, OTT/CTV, programmatic display and video, retargeting, geo-fencing/framing, social media, email marketing and website design. Ben and his wife, Amber, have two boys, Grayson and Quinn. Both boys play club soccer, and their weekends are usually packed with games. Ben enjoys spending time with family, reading, soccer, tennis, golf and ping pong.
